CHALLENGE : VIDEO DIRECTING

and... Actionnn!

normally I only say, 'Camera Rolling..!'
and my focus set only on the display screen of my camera..

but this time, I have to set my focus on EVERYTHING on the location set..!
that's because I got a challenge from my loyal client : Roppongi Papa
to produce their video-training for  their staffs, which have a quite high number of turn-over..

and so, this is my first assignment as a Video Director..!
=)

at first everything looks very complicated and heavy.. but after all the team members are gathered, things are getting firm and steady..

We got :

- Fian as Assistant Director
- Aftermoments as Video Camera Team (Tobias, Ino, Hero, Boy)
- Waliy as Photographer, with Ibnu as his assistant
- Benno as Line Producer
- Syarif as Talent Coordinator
- Restu as Make-up Artist
- and myself as Producer and Director

its quite a packed team,
an efficient one..!

There will always first steps in everything we do right..?
and this assignment definitely is my 'another' first step in broadening my carrier-landscape..
I guess it's my nature to always moving forward from my comfort-zone
=)

BOUDOIR SHOTS MADE SIMPLE

Aloha!

been busy guys?
well, busy is good..! but, scheduled busy-ness is better =)
and for today, I've been busy to find something interesting to share with you..!

I've just read an article from model mayhem about how to take beautiful boudoir pictures with only one light source..

anyway, have you ever heard about boudoir photography before..?

boudoir photography is somekind of shots to capture the beauty of a woman.. in her private space.
it could be your wife, your girlfriend, or your client..
it derives from the word 'boudoir' which means :

A woman's bedroom or private room.

-

and so, for me what most important about boudoir is not about how slim and sexy the talent is..
but more to how you reveal the beautiness inside.
every women is beautiful in their own way.. right?
then, it goes back to how we can capture that beauty..

maybe with a perfect lingerie, perfect make-up, or perfect lighting..
to match with the photoshoot..

well, with this blog I'm not gonna tell you about lingeries and make-ups..
I simply want to share the lighting set-up for these beautiful boudoir shots
=)

so, here they are :

1. Gorgeous Backlighting

By overexposing this image, we blow out the outer edge of this young woman’s belly, back, bum, arms, and upper thighs, giving her an even slimmer appearance.

50mm lens, ISO 100, f/2.2, 50 sec

2. Low Contrast Lighting

Whether your subject is standing or sitting makes a significant difference in how much light hits her legs.
Here, the photographer have her slightly seated to push her legs forward toward the light, since she loves her legs.

3. Full Length Flattering Lighting

This is a flattering look that works well with almost everyone.

4. Sexy Noir Lighting

The photographer kept the model bright and the background dark
without blowing everything out by exposing for her fair skin

5. Universally Flattering Clamshell Lighting

The silver reflector eliminates deep shadows, creating a luminous glow

100 MILLION RUPIAH MAIN PRIZE!

This catchy slogan has stuck on my head for several days already..
and like any of my continues projects from my loyal clients..
it started with a single job,

the biggest credit is definitely for a friend of mine, Steven Felix..
He was once my top-student while i was still lecturing at Limkokwing University.
He's the one who recommended me to his (intern) company --> REDCOMM,
who urgently need a team to make a documentation about weekly prize drawing from its client, FUTAMI

long story short, we got several jobs already from REDCOMM documenting this special drawing prize programme from FUTAMI.

and this is what our team has made so far :

COLORFUL BLACK AND WHITE

Hello everyone!

do you still keep your film camera inside your long-forgotten cabinet?
well, its time for you to start looking for that treasure..!

coz everyone seems to re-connect with that analogue-spark again..!

the famous androids Daft Punk and the main cast in Matrix Trilogy, Keanu Reeves,
are making something that relates to analogue era,

I quote, (something like this)
we now living in digital era is like to live in a super-comfort zone..
thus, limits our great potential and quality..

well anyway, Im not here to start a debate between film and digital lovers,

its just.. it feels nice for me to remember those moments during my Highschool,
when I have to capture several pictures using my Nikon FM2 and kodak film as my final test
to become the proud member of CANILENS.

and that time, one of my friend forgot to snap the grid from the film to the camera's clipper..
so he (us, helping him) have to reshoot everything again! in just one day!
=)
but that was terribly fun!

the moment we sneaked out from our school,
rushingly take every pictures that should be taken scattered all over around Jakarta,
and finally print it..

and we did it..!
we all passed the test and become the proud member of CANILENS..!

well thats the thing offered from analogue,
flaws..
but beautiful flaws..
=)

THE ART OF SEXY LIGHTING

Hello guys!

when was the last time you had a lava-lamp sessions with yourself..?
accompanied with good music and good pillows..?

if you never had any lava-lamp in your room..
dude, come on.. you never had any lava-lamp..?? try one..!
you'll get addicted, i swear to you
=)

well anyway,
i'm craving for that kind of 'creactivity'..
(its my own word to explain activity that involves creativity..)

you know, like sitting on your closet.. meditating on the shower..
slowly sipping warm earlgrey..

and let your imagination flows..

maybe you will be humming for your next music score to produce,
maybe you move your fingers to imagine the shape of your next design,
or maybe you mumble about the words you're about to write for your speech tomorrow..

but for me, mostly i imagine lights..
how lights will shape into a sexily images..

i will not say anything more,
