PAUL SMITH A TO Z

Hey Guys!
Just wanna recommend you a book titled
"Paul Smith A to Z"

its a conversation between Paul Smith with Olivier Wicker,
about how Paul Smith summarize his life through alphabets..

it captured immediately my attention when i read the description at the back of the book which say,

-----

"Paul Smith finds inspiration everywhere : personal photographs, his relationships with musicians, scrawled messages on Post-it notes, fuzzy animals, and more."

"From A for Architecture to Z for Zebra, this alphabetical manual not only highlights the eclectic sources of inspiration behind his unforgettable designs, but also reveals the unique way in which he sees the world,"

-----

and the most importantly is..
its cost-friendly to my wallet =)

love it..!
buy it..!!

here's some pictures from the book,

i bought this book at Kinokuniya Pondok Indah Mall,
at first i was looking for some 50% off magazines they always put outside of their store..

but that time they didn't have any interesting, inspirational magazines on sale,
so i decided to browse for the books inside,
and voila..!!
i found this book,

oh and by the way, if any of you had ever read :
"Graphis PhotographyAnnual2009"

please let me know, is it worth to buy?
=)

SEE THE MAGIC OF NAM

Hello people!

I almost skip this week blogpost, as I had new role in my workworld..
its kinda bizarre for a company who wants to hire you only for working 4 days in a month..
don't you think?

well, it's bizarre.. but surely its a good business for me! =)

and relating to this bizarre job,
I'd like to post some pictures from NAM

- a Tokyo based graphic/art collective founded by graphic designer Takayuki Nakazawa and photographer Hiroshi Manaka -

we can see magical collaboration from graphic design and photography there..!
and as for me, this really means something..

coz what I'm paid for.. with this bizarre workload =)
kinda involving me in both my photographic and design skill at once..

*oh and by the way, i found the link to this reference (NAM) when a friend of mine posted this in his Facebook's timeline

>> Onitsuka Tiger SS13 - Craft of Movement <<

Sooo, please keep sharing dear o'dear friends!
as Alexander Supertramp says

"Happiness is only real when shared"

all photos courtesy NAM (Takayuki Nakazawa & Hiroshi Manaka)

How much time do you think was spent for a single set-up like this??

7 TRICKS TO SHOOT YOUR MOTOBIKE

Hello people!

this week is a very exciting week for me!
couples of project deals landed on my schedule, plus our family just got a new member in our garage!

its a sportster 883 '02 - with extra vance & Hines exhaust..!
sweeet..!

after the long waiting for the motobike and the problems we've went through.. the bike had safely arrived..

therefore, in the name of the excitement..!!
with this blog I'd like to share you tricks that you can do together with your motobike..
(it would be easy, if you have a friend to help you.. just one person will do good)

all photos courtesy Deus Ex Machina

>> 7 TRICKS TO SHOOT YOUR MOTOBIKE <<

trick no.1 - bring a tripod a bubble level
place your tripod and your camera, don't forget to put the bubble level ontop of your camera.. set the bubble at the center, and start shooting..
if you are alone, just set the timer.. and you can do it yourself,
don't worry about the bubble level.. its very cheap and you can find it in almost every camera-store

trick no.2 - call your friend, ask him/her a favor
just ask him/her nicely to aim your camera at you and shoot couple of shots, while you're driving your motobike infront of him/her..
but make sure you set your camera to burst mode, just in case you don't want your best look to be missed =)
* dont forget to treat him / her a lunch

trick no.3 - find a place with colored transparent wall / roof
you can put your bike on the colored zone..
and when the sun shine through that transparent material, behold the color effect do its magic on your bike..
use a slow shutter just to enhance the color =)

trick no.4 - find a rooftop!
who says that you can only drive on the street..?
find a rooftop, a parking lot maybe.. on the top floor!

trick no.5 - wake up early!
i know that this may be a little hard for some of you  =)
but trust me, it will worth the try..!
just place your bike on an open air, in the morning.. and look how the shadow lies beautifully,

trick no.6 - candids!
again, we'll gonna need a friend to help us here..
but this time, just drive freely.. and ask your friend to shoot you randomly..
sometimes the most unexpected thing in a photo-shoot.. can be the most valuable!

trick no.7 - call a friend of yours who's a professional photographer
this is the final trick!
if you apparently in love sooo much with your bike.. and will do anything you can to frame your motobike in your office / house beautifully..
you can always call a professional photographer who has the same passion as yours..!
(who knows they can give you a special discount if your motobike is supercool)

AMAZING PORTRAIT OF RAINBOW FAMILY

Hello everyone!

have you ever heard about 'rainbow family'..?
its some-kind of community where people who share same belief in love and equality gathers,

all humans are equal and should reject all kind of violence,
that's what the very basic understanding from what I read so far about this community.

I couldn't more agree with that,

but im not gonna talk about all those stuffs now,
what i want to share is a set of portraits i found a long time ago.

it mesmerized me instantly when i look closely into these portraits,
there's something unexplainable about these pictures..

some-kind of a balance between strengths and softness's..

i have used these pictures as part of my lecture whenever i have a photography class for many times,
but still, i couldn't get tired of these amazing portraits..

=)
